Your life is a story …. scrapbook it!

Scrappy Saturday 9/8/12

I don’t even need to comment on this layout because the journaling tells the story.  I used CM Romance and Vellum paper; and used my cricut for the title.

Thankful Thursday 9/6/12

I’m so thankful for this layout because I was having such an awesome day in these pictures.

For this layout, I used CM’s Romance and Vellum paper.  I cut a large circle and then used the circle maker and punched several 1″ circles to put behind the big circle to make it looked scalloped.  Added some stickers and the pictures of our group ready for the running to begin, then used my cricut to cut out some fun letters saying that our team was ready to go .  We did, after all, have matching white T-shirts with a bride on the front and saying who we were on the back.   (Mine said Mother of the Groom).   Thank you for looking!

Favorites Friday 8/31/12

Well, it’s just not possible that it’s the last day of August, is it?  And I’m lacking excuses for my lack of posts this month.  So, here’s to another month full of possibilities.  🙂

Today’s’ layout is a favorite of mine because it was one of the most fun times I’ve ever had!  I was skeptical when I heard about Running of the Brides in Boston.  But my daughter-in-law-to-be was going and I was invited!  So…. I went and what fun, fun, fun!!!  For this layout, I’m pretty sure I used a sketch from an on-line class I took a few years back.   So I will give credit to Feeling Scrappy, because I know I couldn’t have thought this one up myself.   🙂

Mojo Monday

Welcome to my first Mojo Monday post:

I think this is a great Mojo Monday layout because Team Amanda definitely had its Mojo going for the Running of the Brides-Boston 2009.  My  daughter-in-law found “the” dress here and it was an experience I’ll never forget and one that I was so thrilled to be a part of.  For this layout I used the large round template; and cut several circles with the circle punch and taped them underneat the big circle.   I used my cricut for the title words added some vellum, the photos, and swirls; and I ended up with a very Mojo happy layout!  Thanks for looking…..

Happy Birthday Chris – He’s my heart & soul

I became a Mom 29 years ago today, at 9:00 PM precisely, to my son Christopher.  It was all I ever wanted – to be a Mom.  It’s so hard to believe that it was 29 years ago; although in some ways, it does seem like forever ago.  June 6 will always be a happy, happy day to me – the best day of my life.

Painting the house

For this 2 page spread, I used pretty designer print paper and cut a circle out of coordinating blue.  I cut the circle in  half and put each half on each page to bring the 2 pages together.  I cropped the photos all the same height and taped them down side by side to show the progression of the house painting job.  Then I used my cricut and the Jasmine cart for the title.  I added some doodles and dots, and I was very happy with this layout.

What Would Have Been

When I went to the cemetary with my Mom and saw the roses that she had laid there that morning, I knew I had to scrapbook and tell this story.  It’s hard to scrapbook tough subjects, but I also believe it’s therapeutic.  Another one of my favorite layouts.

Just Relaxin’

I wanted these pictures of my nephew Erick with his Uncle John to really stand out on a page.  So I chose a black page and a bright blue designer paper and cardstock that I knew would make the pics jump out.  I freehanded the cut – I used a pencil to draw the shape, then cut with scissors.  I told myself it didn’t matter if it was the same size on both ends – just cut!  Then I used a silver pen to draw a few swirls and the dots along the blue paper.  Then I fired up my cricut for my title – this is the Making the Grade cartridge.  Thanks for looking!

Autumn in Vermont

This is a layout that I did while taking an on-line scrapbook class.  I don’t usually do layering of paper – it adds weight to my book.  But I was really happy with how this came out.

Summer fun with Erick

I used designer paper from a power palette for this page.  This is the left-hand side of the 2 page spread I mentioned in my last post.  The best part of this layout is the adorable picture of my nephew Erick in the pool.
